PANJIM: Bidesh XI emerged winners of the Goa Football Association U-20 Second Division League as they beat Shree Nagesh Maharudra Sports Club 5-0 at Assonora ground, on Thursday.
With this win, Bidesh collect 12 points while FC Mardol finish runners-up with nine points. Bidesh XI broke the deadlock in the 7th minute through Malik Mulla who was played on goal by Kunal Salgaonkar.
Bidesh XI who dominated the opening minutes soon doubled the account in the 13th minute through a Kunal Salgaonkar free-kick.
In the 24th minute, Vishnu Gosavi scored the third for Bidesh when he guided in a perfect delivery from Kunal as the winners led 3-0 at the breather.
Shree Nagesh Maharudra had not many chances in the game and in the 75th minute they conceded their fourth when Akash Kudnekar played aerial pass to Aditya Palni, who made no mistake in heading the ball from close range.
In the final 10 minute of the game, Bidesh XI scored their fifth through Shridharnath Gawas who tried his luck from distance.
The team coached by Severino Fernandes remained undefeated in the league campaign. “I am proud of the boys. They played exceptional football and I believe there is lot of potential in the boys. I am really pleased with the way they responded with my coaching with the results. I don’t have to say more as the they responded with the results. They are champions,” said Bidesh XI SC coach Severino Fernandes.
