One held in flesh trade racket

PANJIM: Crime Branch sleuths arrested a kingpin and rescued a non-Goan victim from commercial sexual exploitation during a raid at Porvorim late Friday night. The man identified as Robin Kumar, 30, from Delhi was arrested for trafficking girls from various States to Goa and pushing them into the flesh trade.

“He had rented out a place at Saligao from where he operated the illegal activities. On Friday night, he had struck a deal of Rs 20,000 with a customer. As soon as they arrived at the spot with the victim, the Crime Branch officials arrested him and rescued the girl,” an officer narrated.
While the accused is remanded to 12 days police custody, preliminary inquiry has revealed that he is part of a larger network which asks for photographs of young girls from different States and lures them to Goa. The raid is expected to expose involvement of various others in the illegal activities.
