PONDA: Willam Lobo (35), a resident of Palaskatta in Mollem, died after he had a head-on collision with a truck at Dharbandora on Tuesday.
Lobo was rushed to Usgao Public Health Centre immediately after the accident, however, he was declared dead soon after admission. His pillion rider Joaquim Coutino (28) from Nuvem received serious fracture injuries and has been shifted to GMC.
According to Ponda police, Lobo was travelling with his pillion rider towards Mollem, while the truck was proceeding towards Dharbandora. Fearing for his life, the truck driver fled from the spot after stopping his vehicle 200 mts from accident spot.
