MARGAO: At the Assolna gram sabha, Sarpanch Pedrina Cardozo said that the panchayat would clear all the gaddas from bazaar, within a month. The villagers had complained that licences were issued for movable carts, but, now, they have been converted into immovable ones.
The gram sabha also resolved increase the budgetary provision for garbage management to Rs 3 lakh; budgetary provisions have also been made for traffic management and maintenance of freedom fighters monument at Lohia Chowk. The panchayat had in the past come under criticism for the poor condition of Lohia Chowk.
At the meeting, the panchayat agreed to send a show-cause notice to the owner of the property where a mobile tower is installed. Further, the gram sabha passed a resolution to construct a sluice gate in the lake at Mulleavaddo through panchayat funds and request the Water Resources Department (WRD) to desilt all the ponds in Assolna.
Furthermore, the annual budget was presented and approved at the gram sabha.
