PANJIM: PWD Minister Deepak Pauskar has stated instructions were issued to all road contractors to start the work of filling up potholes on the highways from Tuesday onwards.
“Work on the highways will be finished by December whereas work on other roads will be finished by March next year,” Pauskar added.
“By December, we will finish all work related to highways. The existing tar on roads needs to be removed before we put concrete on the highways. The public may have to bear this inconvenience for the next two months,” said Pauskar.
While blaming the existing potholes on the monsoons, he said that the department was working on road work throughout the rains. To support his statement, he claimed that there are no potholes on the highway, which begins from Atal Setu Bridge to Goa Velha.
He also stated that besides the highways, all other road-related workers will be completed by March 2022.
