SATTARI: Sattari local regrets out of that 2,500 Alvara land holders from Sattari Taluka who had been slogging for two years to get the ownership, none has been given the full right. Over four thousands Alvara land holders are fated to wait, even after completing their documentation.

In the new turn of events, all who had submitted the Alvara land ownership file in the Collector office are issued a letter demanding some particular documents that people don’t have neither there is any source to retrieve it. “If we had that additional more valid documents related to the Alvara land then we didn’t have to ask government to give the Class ‘A’ Alvara land ownership rights. That valid document would have served the purpose of claiming ownership of Alvara land,” say Sattari residents.
Another Alvara land holder Devendra Gawas said, “I have spent one lakh rupees to make Alvara land holder full ownership file and have submitted in the North Goa Collector office one and a half year ago. We received a letter from the Sattari Mamlatdar office asking for more documents like Title grant, Cadastral Plan and many others documents related to the Alvara land for inventory proceeding, which we don’t have. So we demand to the Government to get another provision to solve the Alvara land ownership issue.”
Advocate Ganpat Gaonkar revealed that there is no inventory proceeding provision in getting the Alvara land ownership right. “They have to make a committee, the way they have made the Forest Right Committee to get the Forest land rights,” said the advocate.
