PANAJI: Manya Rao (11) class VII student of Our Lady of the Rosary school Dona Paula and Ram Sawant (11) class VII student of the Kendriya Vidyalaya INS Mandovi won bronze medals at the Karate Association of India’s Junior National Karate Championships held in New Delhi recently. A total of 35 teams representing the different states and Union territories participated in the tournament.
Both Manya and Ram who won the bronze medals in the Free Fighting (Kumite Event) were part of a 21-member Traditional Karate Association Of Goa ( TKAG ) team. The team was selected from the winners of TKAG’s Junior Karate Championships held in Mapusa earlier. Both medallists are students of Goa based coach Sensei Joseph Rodrigues.
