PANJIM: The Panjim police on Monday caught three juveniles for stealing cell phones and digital cameras from a shop in Ponda. The trio was initially intercepted at Kadamba Transport Corporation Limited bus stand for violating traffic rules, and later held when they confessed to being involved in the criminal offence.
“They were caught while riding triple seat on a bike near Kadamba Transport Corporation bus stand. They could not produce the vehicle documents and on search, the police found brand new mobile phones and digital cameras. On further questioning, they confessed the gadgets had been stolen from a shop in Ponda a few days ago,” an officer said.
“The boys also confessed that the bike was a stolen property, following which they were taken into custody for separate offences. We have sent them to Apna Ghar and investigations are in progress,” he added. The stolen property is valued at Rs 5 lakh approx.
