A New Year
resolution is a set of rules that an individual defines for themselves as a
symbolic gesture that they will resolve to be better versions than they were in
the last year. In a way, resolutions serve as milestones wherein a person
recognises the areas of their life and personality which needs improvement. At
the same time, with the Pandemic changing the status quo of social expectation
almost constantly on account of the newly discovered variants of the
Coronavirus, it becomes imperative that a person adapts their resolutions
according to the prevailing circumstance. That is where the resolutions are
meant to be amended when the context does not befit the current state of social
development. Therefore, we as social participants should undertake to abide by
normative principles of correctness and morality while choosing to observe our
New Year resolutions in the most efficient way while considering every small
step as a part of the journey towards self-betterment.
