MAPUSA: The Gaunkars of Comunidade Fraternal De Aldona have petitioned the Administrator of Comunidades (North) demanding legal action to protect property rights of the comunidade.
The gaunkars informed that they were shocked to find that as per the survey, Form I & XIV shows a person as the occupant of property admeasuring 7,850 sq mts which belongs to the Comunidade Fraternal De Aldona.

They alleged that during investigation it came to their knowledge that the code of comunidades was not followed and managing committees of the comunidade from the year 2009 onwards were in connivance with the present occupant to swindle the comunidade of its prime land situated at Gavar and Carona in Aldona constituency.
The gaunkars informed that they had approached the present managing committee for clarification. However, the gaunkars claimed that they were told to approach court with their grievances.
They have demanded the dismissal of the current president and dissolution of the managing committee in terms of the code of comunidades.
The gaunkars have also threatened to file a complaint of fraud, manipulation and misrepresentation and criminal conspiracy.
They informed that the land along with its surrounding area is used as a playground for generations and the same has been earmarked as a village playground in the Regional Plan 2021.
