Colva police said Revon Coutinho, 36, the driver, while proceeding towards Varca beach knocked down the four pedestrians at Pedda Varcanear cross. Coutinho fled from the scene after knocking down the victims.
Police identified the victims as Cezel, 14, daughter of Baptisto Fernandes; Cynatra, 15, daughter of Baptisto Fernandes; and Tracy, 17, daughter of Joaquim Fernandes, all residents of Pedda, Varca. The fourth victim Jaff, 15, son of Pieadad Rodriguez, is a resident of Calvaddo, Benaulim. The accused was arrested and later released on bail.
Colva police have registered offences under Sections 279, and 337 of IPC and Section 135 (a) (b) of the Motor Vehicle Act against the driver, Coutinho.
