Much water has flowed down the River Sal since the Margao civic body and Fomento Green inked an agreement four years ago on February 2, 2011 to tackle the Sonsodo waste.
A proposal to review the agreement with an addendum, in view of the
Council’s decision to cap the yard, has been pending for the last one and half year, with both sides pointing accusing fingers at each other for the delay. The addendum will help both sides ascertain the exact cost of the waste treatment plant and the final amount the civic body needs to pay to Fomento Green.
Sources said that finalisation of the addendum will help the Ahmedabad-based consultant to verify the work executed at Sonsodo and facilitate the payments to Fomento.
