RGP candidate booked for violating MCC

PANJIM: The Ponda Police have booked Tukaram alias Manoj Parab, candidate of Revolutionary Goan Party (RGP) for North Goa 

Lok Sabha constituency, for allegedly violating the Model Code of Conduct (MCC).

According to the police, Parab allegedly conducted a rally with his 50 supporters at Tisk Usgao, Ponda, on May 1, 2024, without having permission to do so by the competent authority.

He allegedly violated the guidelines outlined in the compendium of instructions provided by the Election Commission of India (ECI). An offence has been registered under Section 188 of IPC and the case is being investigated by PSI Y Gaonkar, police said.
