PONDA: Curti and Ponda locals on late Wednesday evening claimed that they have spotted a Bison at Amrai-Curti and Jaycee Nagar area.
Earlier, the locals of remote areas of Priol and Dharbandora were always complaining of a Bison moving freely in their area. But now the residents residing at semi-urban Curti Panchayat, very close to Ponda town, said a Bison was spotted near the residential area.
The locals said, “As the trees from forests and hills are felled for the residential and other purposes, wild animals panic and freely roam close to residential areas.”
There were also many sightings of leopard moving freely even during the day time in the residential areas at Kavlem, Talavlmi, Usgao and Borim in search of food.
