MARGAO: Ravindra Bhavan has given its nod for the construction of two Rs 28 crore central government funded multiplexes in its premises at Margao, even as the institution has asked the government to build a 1,000 capacity parking ramp to meet the growing parking requirements.
Chairman of Ravindra Bhavan, Damu Naik, told newsmen that the institution has also asked the government to build the ramp parking via Special Purpose Vehicle either through SGUDA or GSIDC.
Naik said the Ravindra Bhavan executive committee has decided to review the rent of the halls and auditorium beginning from April 1. “Even in instances where a particular function is organized in collaboration with Ravindra Bhavan, we have decided to charge minimum of Rs 2,000 rent to cover the cost of water, light, security, toilets etc.,” he said.
Replying to a question, he said while the Central government would fund the Rs 28 crore auditoriums in the Ravindra Bhavan premises.
