MARGAO: Three opposition panchas of the VarcaPanchayat have written to the Directorate of Panchayats (DoP) alleging a lack of transparency on the part of the newly-elected panchayat body.

The new Sarpanch denied these allegations on Tuesday. In their letter, Nora Rodrigues, Sharon D’Costa and Joao Rodrigues raised their objection to the convening of the panchayat meeting on Tuesday despite their request for an adjournment and even though they were not present for the meeting. They further alleged that the book of accounts and certified copies of the multi-house projects were not shown to them.
