PERNEM: GPCC President Amit Patkar took pot shots at the BJP and alleged that negligence on the part of the party’s ‘favourite contractor’ was the main cause of landslides in the State and charged that the entire stretch of the National Highway from Bambolim to Patradevi was in a super mess.
“The contractor who has taken up construction of Highway thinks that he owns the State. Such incidents endanger the lives of commuters. The PWD Minister should blacklist and terminate the services of this contractor for the substandard work,” said Patkar.

Sanjay Barde, general secretary of NCP said that the PWD minister should visit the area and take stock of the situation rather then squatting comfortably in his office.
Amit Patkar was accompanied by Virendra Shirodkar, Olencio Simoes and Sanjay Barde to the landslide site at Dhargal on Tuesday.
