Villagers on banks of Valvonti, Costi rivers cautioned

The Villagers residing on the bank of Costi and Valvonti Rivers are informed that the impounding of the water in Anjunem Dam has started from June 26. The water level of the dam at present is 88.37mts and will be stored up to level 93.20 mts.
There is possibility of increase in water level, which may lead to excess water discharge in Costi and Valvonti rivers, and it will be released through the spilling gates during low tide whenever possible. As the water level in the above two rivers could increase, the villagers are requested to take care while crossing river, washing clothes, swimming and grazing their cattle on the river side, says a press release issued here.
