PANJIM: The Congress party has alleged government interference in the functioning of the Vigilance Department and inefficient functioning of the Education department, which is headed by the chief minister.
Speaking at a press conference at Congress House Saturday, the party spokesman demanded that government refrain from interfering in Vigilance department and alleged that “Vigilance does not register our (Congress) complaints against the government but complaints against Congressmen are being immediately registered.”
He also argued that the transfer of teachers and extension of school timings were done by the Education Department without taking the parent teacher associations into confidence.
“We want the government to continue the midday meal scheme for the students, but only after revamping it.”
