PONDA: Ponda Police arrested 22-year-old Sahil Mulla, a resident of Nagzar Curti, an accomplice of the duo Shubam Sanjay Sawant and Krishna Khadkar accused of attacking two cops including an ASI with broken bottles while they had gone for investigation at Curti in connection with gold theft.
Ponda Police said after investigation they have recovered four stolen mangalsutras worth Rs 6 lakh approximately. The accused have been remanded to six days police custody.

It may be recalled that Ponda Police arrested Shubam (25), a resident of Panditwada and Krishna Khadkar (30) from Housing Board Colony, Curti for attacking two Ponda Cops on October 19 with broken bottles.
According to Ponda Police, action was taken based on complaint by one Raju Verenkar, a resident of Karnataka who complained that on September 30, 2020 at 11 am when he arrived with the gold ornaments to meet a goldsmith in Ponda for an order, he was walking to new KTC Bus Stand Ponda to board a bus for Karnataka. When he reached near Safa Masjid, Shubam and Krishna and an unknown person with their common intention assaulted him with fist blows and snatched his shoulder bag containing four mangalsutras all worth Rs 6 lakh approximately, Adhaar Card, mobile and clothes.
Police had earlier registered offence under Section 307 against the duo for attacking cops on October19. The duo was arrested the following day at Belagum and Patradevi respectively.
