CANACONA: The scenic Bamonbudo waterfall at Ambeaghat-Gaondongrim in Canacona has been attracting visitors from far and wide, but residents have demanded the presence of a police team at the site to avoid clashes and nuisance in the area.
Though the water flow is yet to reach its full force, the Bamonbudo waterfall has already evoked keen interest among several people, including youngsters.
However, limited parking and limited carriage way along the narrow Gaondongrim-Netraveli road across Bamonbudo waterfall has led to frequent fights among groups since the last two years.
Locals have also complained that many picnickers misbehave under the influence of alcohol and urinate in the open space, besides teasing local women and girls frequenting their nearby paddy fields.
Rajendra Velip, ex-sarpanch of Gaondongrim, informed that glass bottles are often broken and thrown in the locality and some village elders have often been given a drink forcibly.
Gaonkar also demanded that arrangement should be made at the earliest to depute a police team at Ambeaghat, especially on weekends.
