PANJIM:The Congress party on Tuesday said that the auctioning of all mining leases can be one of the ways forward for the development of mining industry in the State.
GPCC President Subhash Shirodkar said that all the political leaders, irrespective of their political rivalry, need to sit and come out with analytical approach on mining for the development of the State.
“Auctioning of the mining leases can be one of the options,” Shirodkar added. He also welcomed the Supreme Court interim order to allow e-auctioning of 11.48 MT of extracted iron ore which was lying unused in the State for over a year.
“It’s a good decision, but only thing to worry is that the money collected from the auctioning should not be misused by government,” he said.
Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has projected a revenue of Rs 1500 crore to the state exchequer when the ore is auctioned.
