MARGAO: Holy Spirit Institute, Margao defeated Fr Agnel Multipurpose High School, Verna, 3-1 in the final of the U-14 Boy’s Salcete taluka Inter-School football , organised by the DSYA at Raia ground, recently.
In the 9th minute, Nathan Rodrigues brilliantly converted a free-kick from just outside the box after Richard Fernandes was fouled by a rival a defender to give Holy Spirit 1-0 lead. Few minutes after the lemon break, Oscar Braganza scored to make it 2-0.
Ten minutes later, a shot on target by Harsh Patre was tapped into the nets by Abhishek Satam, 3-0.
Minutes before the final whistle, goalkeeper Frevino fouled a rival player just outside the penalty area and Fr Agnel managed to pull one goal back.
