Water pollution claim marine lives in Bailpur river, allege locals

PERNEM: Fish, Water species are found dying in Bailpar river water. Locals suspect this is due to the pollution and blame Water Resource Department’s ongoing work of pump house project for it.

A carcass of a crocodile was found floating in the Bailpar river at Casarvane on Friday. Locals said that this is the third incident in last two days where the carcasses of crocodiles were found. 

The villagers informed that on Friday, they even found dead fish floating in the river and blamed the Water Resources Department and said that the contractor has blocked the flow of water as well as polluted the water with mud and other substances resulting water to pollute which is causing in death of the fish and crocodile.
