Yuvraj Singh gets notice for not registering villa

PANJIM: The Tourism Department has started proceedings under Registration of Tourist Trade Act against cricketer Yuvraj Singh for failure to register his villa with the department. 

Meanwhile, Yuvraj Singh has withdrawn his villa from the listings of a website.

The cricketer has been asked to appear before the Deputy Director Tourism on December 8.  If he fails to reply to the notice and appear before the Deputy Director Tourism, a fine which may extend upto Rs 1 lakh, will be imposed on him. 

Yuvraj Singh has listed his residential premises located at Varchawada, Morjim-Pernem as a homestay on online platforms. A surprise inspection was held by the officials of this department on November 11, at the villa owned by Yuvraj Singh. 

The Tourism Department issued a show cause notice to as to why penal action should not be initiated against the cricketer for default in registration under the Goa Registration of Tourist Trade Act, 1982.
