VALPOI: The new fish vendors from Valpoi town are not ready to sell fish in Valpoi Municipal fish market and have been selling fish sitting outside on the road side.
This is the reason why customers are not coming in fish market to buy fish. All fish vendors from fish market have informed the Chief Officer and Chairperson of Valpoi Municipal council and have also given a written letter to the Valpoi Municipal council, but no action was taken.
Now all fish vendors from Valpoi municipal fish market will sit in front of Valpoi MLA’s office and sell fish, says an irate fish vendor.
Now days, many small ‘fish markets’ have sprung up along the roads and due to this no one is coming to buy fish from market. Despite our several complaints, the Chairperson of Valpoi Municipal council is not taking any action, complains Shashikala Fernandes, a fish vendor.
We have written a letter to the Valpoi Municipal council to take action on those fish vendors, who are sitting outside the road side and selling fish, as our business is being affected, butu they do not act against them, says Uday Dalvi, another fisherman.
We have met to the Chief Officer of Valpoi Municipal council and requested her to take action on fish vendors, who are not ready to sit in fish market and not paying any sopa to the municipality. The Chief Officer is not ready to take action, officer favouring them, says Deepak Naik, a fisherman.
