QUEPEM: AAP-backed candidates would contest in all 13 wards of Quepem Municipal Council (QMC) polls, confirmed AAP leader Pratima Coutinho on Wednesday.
Quepem AAP convenor Patricia Fernandes revealed 11 volunteers contesting from AAP and they are supporting two independent candidates.
Pratima claimed that if AAP-backed candidates win the municipal polls, then taxes in garbage would be quashed, housing taxes would be reduced to fifty per cent, and hurls a bigger bait that she would make sure small water pipelines would be replaced by big pipelines for 24/7 water supply which will help to overcome the scarcity of water in municipal area.
She further claimed to provide door to door garbage collection in area and most importantly her supported team would clean the drainage before monsoon, which is among very primary responsibilities of municipalities.
When asked what exact post she is given in AAP, Coutinho she diplomatically qipped, “I am happy as to be called AAP leader. I am happy to work for the party for the people of Goa, and at present AAP party is only party that can give justice to common people of Goa and I am not thinking about the post and it is parties collective decision.”
