In recent years, the spot near Shree Maruti temple at Varkhandem, Ponda has turned dangerous as there are no adequate traffic signboards or any speed-breakers. With the excavation work to lay sewerage pipeline network in full swing, the situation has worsened to a great extent. The dumping of mud and other material along the roadside has hampered the movement of pedestrians. What is worst is that material has been dumped on the pavement and hence pedestrians are unable to use the same. Ultimately, the safety of people is at stake as bricks occupy the pavement. The concerned authorities should consider the plight of pedestrians proceeding along this busy route and clear the pavement at the earliest. Prompt favourable action in this matter would certainly be appreciated by one and all. No doubt, pedestrians must be assured the much needed relief on priority basis.
