CUNCOLIM: “It is our dream to provide 24-hour drinking water to every house and every individual Goan; and we, under the leadership of Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, are striving hard to make this dream a reality,” PWD Minister Ramakrishna (Sudin) Dhavalikar said on Sunday.
The minister was talking at a foundation stone laying ceremony for water pipeline at Ambaulim.
Further, the minister said that the BJP coalition government’s first aim and objective is to provide essential needs to Goan. “We have largely succeeded in providing drinking water even to the remote areas. The government will spend Rs 8.5 crore to lay the pipe line from Ambaulim to Akamol. It was the long pending demand of locals to provide water and we are happy to fulfill the demand of the peoples,” Dhavalikar said.
The minister also said that the government has built a strong network of hot-mixed roads in every city and every village and due to hot-mixing, the maintenance expenditure of roads has come down.
Dhavalikar also laid foundation stone of water pipeline at Betul for supplying water to Pirawada in Betul.
Leader of Opposition Chandrakant Kavlekar expressed his happiness that he made his Quepem constituency water sufficient. “I succeeded in providing water to every house,” Kavlekar said.
South Goa MP Narendra Savoikar listed out the development projects carried out by BJP government. Cuncolim MLA Clafacio Dias also spoke.
The two pipelines would resolve the water problem of Ambaulim, Balli, Betul, Morpilla, Barcem and Khola.
