Tiatr Academy of Goa under its scheme ‘Preservation of Tiatr Literature’ released three books on
August 13, 2018 at the Conference Hall of Tiatr Academy of Goa, Campal, Panjim.
The books were of tiatrs ‘Zhoim Pritimog Vosta’ and ‘Mog Mogan Jiye’ written by
Domingos Coelho (Comedian Domnic), ‘Xirlo’ written by Mario Menezes and
‘Nirmonn’ written by Albert Leo de Souza and were released at the hands of the
Chief Guest Fausto V Da Costa, a well-known writer and Editor of ‘Gulab’
magazine.
Speaking on the
occasion, Fausto appreciated Tiatr Academy of Goa and the three writers for
taking the initiative of printing their tiatrs in the form of books. He further
said that the tradition of publishing tiatrs in the form of books is not a
recent practice but has its origins somewhere in 1909,when many tiatrs were
published in Roman script. He urged the tiatr artistes to not hesitate to
express their views in Konkani in Roman script, especially on social networking
sites and said that even though jealousy towards success of others is a part of
human nature, we need to rejoice in the success of our fellow tiatr artistes as
this will eventually help in motivating and building the tiatr fraternity
further on.
Domingos Coelho,
writer of ‘Zhoim Pritimog Vosta’ and ‘Mog Mogan Jiye’, Mario Menezes, writer of
‘Xirlo’ and Albert Leo de Souza, writer of ‘Nirmonn’ also took to the dais on
the occasion.

Agostinho
Temudo, President of TAG welcomed the gathering while Vice President William
Fernandes proposed a vote of thanks. Also present was Cezar D’Mello, Member
Secretary of TAG. The programme was compered by Agnelo L Fernandes (Agnel
Borim).
