PANJIM: COVID-19 cases appear to be spreading across Goa from one common point of Mangor Hill in Vasco, which is now the epicentre of the disease in the State. As per reports, 29 new cases were reported in Goa on Tuesday, with 22 linked to Mangor Hill.
Information further reveals that 13 cases are from Mangor, there are six health care workers, four from Morlem, four came by road from Maharashtra and two came by train. The active cases in Goa are 292.

Health Secretary Nila Mohanan said the Mangor Hill-based doctor, who treated the first patients tested positive in RT PCR test on Tuesday.
“Today we visited Mangor Hill and people had some grievances like opening of shops, which has been rejected,” she stated. She added that the residents also wanted the timings of OPD to be extended.
“The Chief Secretary directed that the OPD timings be increased by one hour. The OPD hours now will be extended from two hours to three hours at Mangor Hill health centre,” Mohanan said.
Further, she said, the SEC also visited the COVID Care Centre at SDH Shiroda. “Presently there are 68 positive cases which are shifted to the facility. However, the capacity can be increased to 170 beds,” she said.
