Margao’s sewerage line on track in south, disintegrates in northern-end
Finally, the southern areas of Margao are in the process of being connected to the underground sewerage network. Government officials are optimistic of commissioning the main line before the onset of monsoons. A new 20 MLD sewerage plant is also taking shape at Sirvodem costing approximately Rs 37 crore. While work on connecting the town’s southern areas to the sewerage network is on, Guilherme Almeida finds out that the town’s northern area is craving for urgent attention, with the dilapidated underground line down in the dumps, leaving water bodies along its course contaminated and polluted.
