VASCO: Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) President Girish Chodankar demands free and fair investigation in the alleged scam/ fraud in the restoration of the heritage municipality building of Mormugao. He also demanded appointing an expert Conservation Architect to study the damage caused and loss incurred to the building.
During a press conference held on Tuesday, Chodankar said that fraud has taken place in restoration of the heritage building of Mormugao municipality. “If in this fraud Chief Minister does not hold any share then we demand that Chief Minister should issue an order to stop the ongoing work of this heritage building,” said Chodankar

Chodankar demanded Conservation Architect should be appointed to examine the loss and damage caused to the heritage building. Further the theft of any material of this building to be listed out and FIR to be lodged for the defacement of the heritage building.
He also stated that the free and fair investigation in the alleged scam of restoration of municipal building should take place and recovery of Rs.6 crore should be done.
Chodankar along with Mormugao Block Congress Committee claimed that restoration of heritage Mormugao municipality building involved scam which has been pointed out by BJP’s own MLA of Vasco Carlos Almeida alleging Urban Development Minister’s and Chief Minister’s involvement in it.
