MARGAO: Irked over the waste packed in plastic bags found lying by the roadside near Sonsoddo dump yard despite continuously clearing of waste, Curtorim MLA Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco along with the locals protested at the site and warned of strict action against those people who are found dumping the waste.
Aleixo Reginaldo informed that security personnel will be engaged in keeping vigil in the next two days and appealed to Raia Village Panchayat to monitor the situation.

It is pertinent to note that nearly 100 bags containing waste, including chicken and other food waste has been dumped near the Sonsoddo dump yard, road towards the Curtorim. Even napkins and pads are found inside the bags, resulting in stink all over the place.
“It is now beyond control and we need to take culprits to task who are dumping the waste by the roadside.,” said the MLA
“I have been engaging the workers to clean the area on a regular basis but it is shocking to notice that the people continue to dump the waste over here. I am warning the people that such type of uncivilised behaviour will not be tolerated in future and will take strict action if caught dumping the waste,” the MLA warned.
