Hivrem parents demand English teacher for Govt Primary School

Threaten to stage dharna at the Valpoi ADEI office

VALPOI: Hivrem Village women and PTA members gheraoed the ADEI office and submitted a memorandum to the ADEI and demanded to appoint a regular English teacher in their village Government Primary school. The Hivrem villagers have given eight days to the ADEI, failing which they threatened to sit down in a dharna at the Valpoi ADEI office along with the students.

Since the past few years Hivrem villagers and parents and Teachers Association members have been demanding a regular English Teacher in Hivrem Government Primary School. The students studies gets affected, say PTA members.

The Government Primary School of Hivrem village needs a regular English Teacher in school, the present English teacher visiting the school twice in a week, on Monday and Tuesday. In the remaining days, the English teacher goes to other schools of Sattari Taluka.

At present, the Hivrem Government Primary School is having 45 students. The strength of students is increasing every academic year in this school. But there is no regular English teacher in this school.

The PTA members and villagers held a meeting on English Teacher issue recently and had discussed the issue of English teacher briefly and today they had gherao the ADEI office and have submitted a memorandum to the Valpoi ADEI office.

“In our Hivrem Government Primary School we require a regular English teacher and beside this we require other two teachers. The total we require three regular teachers in our village school,” says Pranali Gaonkar a PTA member.
