All 8 accused in Mapusa fight remanded in custody

PANJIM: The JMFC Mapusa on Thursday remanded all eight accused in Thursday’s clash at Mapusa in police custody for six days. One Kalim Shaikh was killed in the clash.

PANJIM: The JMFC Mapusa on Thursday remanded all eight accused in Thursday’s clash at Mapusa in police custody for six days. One Kalim Shaikh was killed in the clash. 
Five accused, including Mohmmad Ali (52) who is the father of Khalid Shaikh, and is suffering from paralysis, have been remanded in Mapusa police custody. The other three are undergoing treatment at GMC, Bambolim.
Police said the postmortem on Kalim’s body will be done on Saturday. Meanwhile, the wife of Khalid Mohmmad, Taniza speaking to media demanded that an offence should also be booked on Aukat and his brothers-in-law who first attacked Khalid.
She said that Aukat and his brothers-in-law came to attack Khalid and unnecessarily her family has been dragged in the offence. 
The sister of accused Sumit Fadte also spoke to the media and said her brother has been wrongly framed in the crime as he had gone to help Khalid when he was attacked by Aukat and others.
Meanwhile, a delegation of around 30 people, including family and friends of Kalim, approached Mapusa Police station demanding justice and stern action against culprits.
