PANJIM: Suspended Mines Director Arvind Lolienkar, who was arrested in March for his alleged involvement in the multi-crore iron ore mining scam, has been hospitalized after he complained of back pain. This occurred even as the Margao Sessions Court extended his judicial custody by another nine days on Thursday.
Lolienkar was arrested on March 28 for allegedly conniving with Gujarat-based Frost International Pvt Ltd by allowing the latter to illegally export 1.35 lakh metric tons ore to China based on forged documents.
Sources informed that Lolienkar was admitted to a private ward of Goa Medical College on May 4.
