PANJIM: The opposition Congress Party on Friday demanded registration of an FIR against two women staff of a casino for abetting suicide of Pune businessman Vikas Tingre, who lost money in casino gambling.
In a memorandum submitted to the Director General of Police (DGP), the Congress alleged that Tingre committed suicide after losing money in a Goan casino and has explicitly written in his suicide note the names of two women staff, who lured him into gambling activities in casino in the State.

The businessman has also mentioned that after winning money, he wanted to quit but the two women compelled him to continue gambling, coercing him into further bet. Due to pressure from the duo, he continuously played further and lost substantial money in gambling in the casino.
On the basis of the suicide note and a complaint filed by Vikas Tingre’s son at the Vimantal police station in Maharashtra, the Congress demanded that the Goa DGP should take suomotu cognisance of the matter, and file an FIR against the two women and conduct a thorough probe in the suicide matter so as to find out how staff/officials of casinos force customers to play gambling continuously and also the other dark side of these gambling which has resulted in deaths of many people, which went unreported.
The Congress in its memorandum has also pointed out that recently a 25-year-old tourist from Karnataka committed suicide in a hotel at Mala-Panaji after losing money in gambling.
