PWD Minister assures probe into assets of JEs

The increasing number of illegal speed-breakers in various state roads including on National Highways, prima facie smack of corruption, PWD Minister Ramakrishna Dhavalikar told the State Assembly and assured to initiate a vigilance inquiry into the financial assets of Junior Engineers of the department.

PANJIM: The increasing number of illegal speed-breakers in various state roads including on National Highways, prima facie smack of corruption, PWD Minister Ramakrishna Dhavalikar told the State Assembly and assured to initiate a vigilance inquiry into the financial assets of Junior Engineers of the department.

Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar also informed the House that cognizable offences against the officers would be initiated if they are found to be involved in illegalities or corruption. “Chief Engineers would be also booked,” he clarified. 

“Henceforth without notification, no speed-breakers would be constructed. If found that these are put up without notification, then complaints would be filed against the concern officials,” he said.

The CM and the PWD Minister were replying to the question tabled by Ponda MLA, Lavoo Mamledar.
