CUNCOLIM: Director of Municipal Administration has ordered Quepem Municipal Council Chief Officer Darshan Desai to file an FIR against the contractor who had demolished the council’s old market building. The DMA order says that the act of the contractor was illegal as he had demolished old building without her consent.
It may be recalled that GSUDA had tendered a market complex at Quepem belonging to the municipality the terms of which include both demolition and reconstruction. However, without the permission of the DMA, the municipality had hired a contractor and orally ordered him to demolish the building.
Holding the act of the ruling group as illegal, the DMA had ordered the chief officer to file FIR against the contractor.
