PANJIM: A day after the State Election Secretary held a meeting to review preparedness for the Zilla Parishad polls, Panchayat Minister Mauvin Godinho proposed January 9 and 16, 2021 as dates for the election.

Speaking to the media, Godinho said, “I have moved the file to the Chief Minister informing that elections could be held on January 9 or 16.”
He said the Chief Minister will take a final call on the dates in consultation with the State Election Commission Chokha Ram Garg.
Godinho also ruled out reports that the polls have been scheduled for December 12.
