PANJIM: Though the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) manifesto is silent on the issue of casinos, its alliance partner Goa Suraksha Manch (GSM) said a common minimum program will be drawn up after the elections if the alliance comes to power.
Speaking to reporters, senior GSM leader Arvind Bhatikar said he is aware that MGP is silent on the issue but the alliance is firm on closing the casino industry in Goa. “A common minimum program will happen post elections and after following all legal aspects we will shut the entire casino industry, offshore as well as onshore,” he said.
GSM President Anand Shirodkar said a pleasant environment favouring their alliance prevails which will bring them to power. He said the alliance will cross 20 seats in the coming Assembly elections.
The party wants to end the ‘dictatorship’ of Manohar Parrikar.
