VASCO: Labour leader Ajitsingh Rane on Wednesday accused the Labour Commission officials of not cooperating with workers and suppressing their voice.
Rane was addressing meeting organised to celebrate International Labour Day at Cortalim. The meeting was followed by a rally.
Addressing the workers, Rane said that there is need to stop the mental and physical exploitation of labour in Goa. When the labour union fights for the right of workers, even government has to listen to the issues of the workers.
He also emphasised on regularization of the employees and also spoke about the drawbacks and injustice done to some employees who are on contractual jobs in companies.
Another speaker, Prof Sunil Shet opined that the Labour commission should take cognisance of the injustice, malpractices against the workers and should take strict actions against the establishments involved in such activities.
He also opined that Labour Commission should take efforts to abolish contract system.
