State govt begins door-to-door survey despite Opposition

PANJIM: The State government has already started the door-to-door health survey on pilot basis, despite the criticism from the Opposition.

The State Executive Committee (SEC) meeting was held on Friday.

During the deliberation of SEC, Secretary, Health informed that the training for the master trainers and incident commanders for the planned house-to-house survey has been started. 

Few teams have been sent on the field to conduct a pilot survey, she added.

The SEC, deliberating on the availability of masks, decided to put in place a mechanism to make the masks available at reasonable rates.

The DIG was also directed to put mechanism to ensure that no person uses the Railways tracks for inter-State movement.

PS Reddy, Secretary, Fisheries informed the SEC that quarantine facilities are functioning as per norms.

Director of Panchayat informed that out of 191 panchayats, 164 have commenced the pre monsoon work and that similar work is being undertaken in the municipal areas.

SEC also asked to the PCE to carry out necessary maintenance and repair work for the national and State highways after the end of lockdown.

The SEC asked the District Observers to remain alert during the lockdown period and emphasised the need for ensuring the effective lockdown.

The SEC meeting, held under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary Parimal Rai on Wednesday, was attended by Puneet Goel, Principal Secretary, Science and Technology; SK Bhandari, Secretary, Transport and Sanjay Kumar, Secretary Revenue, Member Secretary, SEC and SDMA.

Daulat A Hawaldar, Secretary, Finance; Subhash Chandra, PCCF; Kunal, CEO; Rajesh Kumar, DIG; Smt Nila Mohanan, Secretary, Health; Amit Satija, Commissioner, Excise;. PS Reddy, Secretary, Fisheries; J Ashok, Secretary, Tourism; Sanjay Grihar, Secretary, Panchayats; CR Garg, Secretary, Law; Ms Isha Khosla, Secretary, Civil Supply; UP Parsekar, Principal Chief Engineer, PWD and RG Keni, Chief Engineer, Electricity also attended the meeting as special invitees.
