PANJIM: The State Department of Labour has notified the Goa Factories (Fifteenth Amendment) Rules, 2021.

The amended rules have listed out all the various instruments and equipment, which have to be cleared in terms of determining if they are safe when used.
It also covered how permissions can be applied for cylinders/vessels/tanks that contain flammable, toxic compressed gas or petroleum products.
The policy stated that the person issuing the Certificate of Stability has to be a Structural Engineer registered under the provisions of the Goa Land Development and Building Construction Regulations, 2010, as amended from time to time.
It added that in case of the person who has originally designed the building/shed/structure/work of engineering construction, the Certificate of Stability issued by such person shall be considered in respect of such work initially and thereafter once every five years or after any new work or modifications. It added that such a person has to be approved by the office of the Chief Inspector of Factories and Boilers.
The policy also explained in detail all the procedures for making payments. It further displayed the revised scale of fees payable for licence and annual renewal of licence by Factories. The policy further covered the medical examination of workers.
Workers in a factory have to be medically examined once before employment and thereafter after every five years.
