PERNEM: The Pernem Excise Department seized liquor worth Rs 5.75 lakh which was illegally transported through the Patradevi border, on Saturday.

According to the sources, the Excise Department team led by Inspector Amol Harwalkar conducted the raid on early Saturday morning at around 4.30 and seized around 38,400 bottles of 180 ml of Royal Blue Whisky worth Rs 5.75 lakh, which were illegally being transported from Goa to Panvel, Mumbai. The Excise team also seized the vehicle which was being used for transportation.
The team headed by Inspector Harwalkar consisted of Sub Inspector Krishna Usapkar, Excise Guards Devidas Tirodkar, Sunil karbotkar, Assistant Excise Guards Dasharath Tari, Bharat Pagi, Rupesh Redkar and Harish Naik.
