Ponda police have arrested three accused in connection with the case.
Commuters faced hardship due to closure of ferry service on both the routes. However, the ferry staff resumed the service late in the evening.

Police have arrested Gokuldas Shet, brother of the main accused Pradeep, Utkarsh Shet and a minor for allegedly assaulting Naik.
Meanwhile, criticising Ponda police over investigation into the assault on a ferry crew member along the Adpoi-Rasai ferry route, Ponda MLA Lavoo Mamledar said the police should not fall prey to political pressure.
Addressing a news conference, Mamledar criticised the incident and said police should always register cases under proper sections of IPC so that victims get justice and the accused are punished.
“Police should impose maximum serious sections according to seriousness of the crime. Since I worked as police inspector, in the present case reported at Ponda police station, the police failed to impose the trespass Section 452 of IPC on the accused,” he said. He said Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar should see that the victim gets justice and the accused persons are punished, irrespective of which party they belong to.
