CANACONA: The physical education teacher, who was arrested on charges of kidnapping a minor schoolgirl, has been remanded to four days police custody.
According to Canacona Police, the accused teacher was presented before JMFC Canacona on Thursday.
Sources informed that the girl, who was preparing for her SSC examinations, had gone out with the accused teacher from her home and returned back late evening. The worried parent lodged police complaint before she returned home. The parent in the complaint stated that his minor daughter was kidnapped by an acquaintance of her and had named the teacher.
On previous occasions, the parents had reportedly objected to their daughter exchanging SMSes with the accused and had even complained to the school, after which the school management had reportedly reprimanded the teacher.
The girl was reportedly taken for medical examination, but the outcome of the test is not known.
“Police is only investigating the girl’s father’s allegation of kidnapping and there is nothing beyond that,” informed a police officer.
