PANJIM: A team of officials raided sand extraction sites at Banastarim on Monday and three trucks have been seized in this connection.
According to reports, a North Goa team headed by Tiswadi Mamlatdar Vishal Kundaikar, which has been constituted to look into illegal sand extraction, raided a sand extraction site at Banastarim.

While five trucks were seen at the site, officials could only take three trucks to the police station as the other two drivers fled and abandoned two trucks.
Incidentally, though the Captain of Ports (CoP) is also a part of the team, no official from the CoP was present during the raid, even though they were informed of the raid. As a result, the canoes were not seized by officials.
