MARGAO: Former employee of the Administrator of Salcete Comunidades Nazareth Barreto is yet to pay the cost he has been directed to pay to the Managing Committee of Aquem and Margao Comunidades.
It may be recalled that the Administrative Tribunal while dismissing two appeals filed by the said Nazareth Barreto against the Administrator of Comunidades had directed him to pay cost of Rs 3000 in each of the case that he had filed.
Nazareth had challenged the elections of the Managing Committees of Aquem and Margao Comunidades in a petition before the Administrative Tribunal on grounds that the correct procedure was not followed, no administrator was present for the elections, the elections were not as per the Code of Comunidades, there was no quorum and that the signatories for attendance were not members or voters.
The Administrative Tribunal dismissed both the petitions citing various grounds including that Nazareth was not present for the elections as and when they were held. Besides it was pointed out that the Administrator need to be present for the elections and further pointed out that which non-member participated in the election process was not mentioned.
The Administrative Tribunal also clarified the issue of who could contest and who could not with regards to the jonoeiros and able components and further noted that more than the requisite members were present and hence quorum was established.
While noting that Nazareth was seeking to settle old scores with Celestino Noronha who had got a sanad issued to Nazareth revoked, the Administrative Tribunal also noted that Nazareth had earlier filed three appeals in 2012-13 which were dismissed for non prosecution.
However, till date the said Nazareth Barreto has not paid the amount to either of the parties. The said Nazareth was earlier employed in the office of the Administrator of Comunidades and was sacked as he reportedly went to assault a managing committee member of the Margao Comunidade Celestino Noronha.
